Summary

Yizo-Yizo is a gritty, uncompromising television drama series set in a township school about rape, murder, prostitution, abuse, HIV/AIDS. It follows the story of students in a township school trying to make the most of a difficult situation. Surrounded by drugs, a struggling government administered school and the difficulties of teenage life, Yizo-Yizo captures the complex and volatile energy of a new South Africa.

Season 1 (09/01/12)

Trying to get an education has never been this complicated. Students a local Johannesburg township are dealing with forces beyond their expectations. Its the start of the new school year and eveything seems straight forward but an invasion of gang elements, drugs and a harsh school principal will make this school year different from others.

Season 2 (09/01/12)

Its the last year of high school for our favourite students and they are are at a cross roads. The to plan the next part of their journeys. Coupled with hard decisions, they have to deal with poor and disinterested teachers, crime and a dysfunctional educational system, making it through the year will be an achievement in itself for some. For others bigger challenges await. 

Season 3 (08/16/12)

Life after high school presents new challenges and it isn't easy. Some have made it to university were they encounter new perspectives on love, sex and the world they live in. Others face the prospect of life after high school with no tertiary education, faced with limited opportunities after school crime becomes an attractive alternative. Please note Episode 12 is not available.
