Summary

Set in Zimbabwe, Neria tells the story of a woman caught at the cross roads of traditional Zimbabwean culture and a rapidly modernising urban Zimbabwe. After the tragic death of her husband, Patrick, Neria’s life is turned upside down when she loses everything when her brother-in-law uses African Customary Law to take her money and children. Going against tradition and culture Neria has to fight to get her children back while at the same trying to redress long established cultural practices. Neria is an enthralling insight into a fast changing society trying to come to grips with the role old traditions in a new society.
